John R Yarnell, Chairman of the Board - top
Mr. Yarnell is the President of Yarnell Companies Inc., an investment and management services company formed in 1978 to invest and manage venture capital initiatives.
Mr. Yarnell is the founder and retired Chairman of the Quorum Group of Companies - one of Canada's leading venture capital enterprises. He is a former director and chairman of Poco Petroleums Ltd., a public oil
and gas company, and Guard Inc. a public company formed to commercialize university based research. He was for many years a director of Norcean Energy Resources Inc. a Calgary based petroleum exploration and development company.
Mr. Yarnell is currently a director and chairman of Alexandria Minerals Corporation, a public gold exploration company, Summitt Energy Management Inc. a provider of natural gas and electricity to commercial and residential customers, and YTW Growth Capital Management Corporation, a venture capital management group with interests in e learning, energy management, and IT.
He
is a graduate of The University of Manitoba and Harvard Business School.

Robert C. Dameron, President & Chief Executive Officer - top
Robert Dameron has over 25 years of business experience in the fields of corporate education, financial services and e-learning and joined Broadband in January 2007. He has spent the last
18 years in senior executive roles with a number of organizations.
Prior to joining Broadband he was President & CEO of a teacher-oriented $600+ million mutual
fund company where he doubled the size of the organization in less than 5 years. Prior to that
he
was part
of the executive start-up team for one of Canada’s first online continuing education portals.
He was Vice-President Ontario Sales for Canada’s largest mutual fund company, where he
lead
a sales force of over 1,000 advisors and $8 billion in assets under management. He
also served
as Director, Corporate Training & Education for Canada’s largest stock exchange where
he had
overall responsibility for the training of 500 employees and 600 Floor traders.
Mr. Dameron was appointed to the Board of Broadband Learning in June 2007.

B. Andrus Wilson, Interim Chief Financial Officer - top
Mr. Wilson is the President and CEO of YTW Growth Capital Management Corporation
He has had extensive experience in merger and acquisition activities with Midland Walwyn Capital Inc , and from 1998 to 2004 Mr. Wilson had a private practice providing corporate
development,
mergers
and acquisitions and investment banking advisory
services to mid-market clients.
He is
also a director of
Xentel
DM Incorporated, an entertainment and sports
event production and marketing
company listed on
the TSXV. Mr. Wilson
holds an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of business. |

Mr. Giles is the original founder and President of Broadband
Communications, Inc. Mr. Giles has
more than 20 years experience in
operations management and sales of satellite and wireless technologies.
He has extensive experience with solutions for Business Television,
LAN/WAN
and educational markets.
His background includes senior sales positions with Boeing's
DigitalXpress; and he was
responsible for the largest divisional sales
levels at Williams Global Access. As head of Network Operations
for the
satellite networking company Broadcast International he developed new
product technologies for digital advertisement insertion that led to
the acquisition of the company

Chet Linton , Board Member - top
Since 1991, Mr. Linton has been responsible for vision, strategy, business development, and technology planning of The School Improvement Network based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
As founder of The School Improvement Network, he developed the suite of web-based training
products and was awarded two patents that define the online business
and its follow-up and
reporting provisions (including eProctoring™ technology). He has created cooperative alliances
with major national associations in education such as the American Association of School Administrators, ERA, National Association of Secondary School Principals,
National Association
of Elementary School Principals, and National Staff Development Council.
He has negotiated successful national and international distribution
agreements. He has
also
had several articles published in national
trade journals. Prior to joining the Video Journal,
Chet served as a
trainer and National Director of Marketing and Sales for
Advanced
Concepts,
a leadership consulting and organization management firm
specializing in education, healthcare, and banking industries.

Philip J.L Westfall,Ph.D , Board Member - top
Dr. Philip Westfall is with the Department of the Air Force and is on the staff of Air University
where
he serves as the director of the Air Technology Network Program Management Office, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. To meet multiple distance learning requirements for the
Air Force, Phil developed the Air Technology Network (ATN), an
interactive television (ITV) network, which reaches over 350 Air Force receive sites (including bases in Eurasia) through a satellite
uplink that is terrestrially linked to 16 broadcast studios.
His pioneering efforts and active promotion of ITV within the Federal Government led to the establishment of an interagency ITV network, which he named the Government Education & Training Network (GETN). From a single uplink at Wright-Patterson AFB in 1992, GETN has grown into a network of 10 uplinks used by 19 government agencies reaching over 2,300 receive sites.
Phil is Chairman Emeritus of the Board and formerly President of the
United States Distance
Learning Association, and President Elect (and
co-founder) of the Federal Government
Distance Learning Association. Phil is also on the Executive Committee of the Government Alliance for
Training & Education by Satellite, a league of government program managers that promotes the
use of distance learning by satellite and video conferencing within the Federal sector.
He is on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Distance Education, the Board of Advisors
of the Chief Learning Officer magazine, and on the Board of Advisors of Satellite Application Conference & Expo (SATCON). Phil earned a Ph.D. in Educational Metrics from
Ohio State University, a M.A. in Foreign Language Education, and a B.S. in Industrial
Technology from Ohio University. |
